HOTEL
We reserved a block of rooms at Kyoto Royal Hotel & Spa (http://www.ishinhotels.com/kyoto-royal/en/). We will send the information for reservation. You are expected to send a reservation form directly to the hotel by November@15, 2010. The hotel person in charge will communicate with you as to change in reservation if necessary. The hotel is close to the downtown area and thus convenient for eating/drinking. It takes twenty minutes to the meeting place on foot; the walking along the famous Kamogawa River is straight and comfortable; you shall not get lost. In my opinion, the contract with this hotel is a good deal. The room is nice and relatively wide. The week of December 6 is the very last end of the high season for the visitors. If we are lucky, we can still enjoy watching red maple leaves. The air is crisp and it is not very cold in this season. All hotels in Kyoto in this season charge a lot for the rooms. However, they allowed us a special university rate plus a discounted high season charge as well as discounted breakfast charge.
